Allen Community Band’s Mid-Winter Concert: A Celebration of Music & Education

The Allen Community Band will once again bring the magic of live music to Allen, TX, with its annual Mid-Winter Concert on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Lowery Freshman Center. This free concert is a must-see event for music lovers of all ages. It offers a unique opportunity to honor the educators who dedicate their lives to teaching the next generation.

A Special Concert Honoring Educators

Each year, the Allen Community Band dedicates this performance to teachers past and present to recognize their incredible contributions to children’s education. Educators are invited to attend and be honored during the concert.

An Exciting Lineup of Music

This year’s concert is packed with a variety of musical selections, including:

  • World PremiereFestal, Dance, and Celebration by David Holsinger, a specially commissioned piece funded in memory of the Brombacher Collins family.
  • Broadway Favorites – A medley of songs celebrating 100 years since Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration, featuring selections from Oklahoma! and other classic productions.
  • Movie Magic – Selections from Wicked and Superman will bring the big-screen experience to life.
  • Featured Soloist – Dr. Derek Molacek on Euphonium, performing Blue Bells of Scotland.
  • Honoring President Jimmy Carter – The Band will perform Eternal Father, Strong to Save (The United States Navy Hymn) as a tribute to the late president.
